Life has been very hard for all those who have had to migrate from the Andes of Peru to the city of Lima, looking for new opportunities, looking for ways to give a better future to their children. Every day is a challenge, every day is a constant struggle to survive and seek to provide their families with food, clothing, water, etc.
The city of Lima is overcrowded, 10 million inhabitants, this represents a great demographic growth if we take into account the census of 2007 where Lima only had about 8 million, that means that It is in constant growth. The centralization of Lima is very imposing due to this thousands and thousands of people continue to arrive to the capital from the Andes of Peru, this makes poverty and makes people to have a very precarious life, that's very common in the poor communities of Lima, but who is guilty of looking for a better future for their loved ones?
Aware of this situation, our company Haku Tours decided to work to improve the living conditions of Andean people living in the city of Lima, using the economic resources obtained with tourism. Our social projects not only mean material help, but our moral support as well and our willingness to work with them at all times.
How to smile in the hills? It was the question asked, the answer is: Reciprocity, everybody helping each other. Life is difficult, yes! But these human groups try to overcome their lives more and more with the support they give each other. Poverty does not mean sadness or wealth happiness. It all depends on our perspective.
Thank you to all who pledge to help us. Thanks to every tourist who has taken a tour with us and thanks the people of these Andean communities who with every smile they give us, give us a little happiness!
