DONATIONS GUIDELINES

We thank you for your support through donations! On top of monetary donations and volunteering, you can also donate items. Please read through our Donations Guidelines to better understand the needs of the community members. If you are unsure of an item, please email ong.reciprocity@gmail.com and a coordinator will help you.

Items We Cannot Accept

It's hard to say "no thank you" to a donation. However, we do need to refuse some items for being non-recyclable or containing hazardous materials. Other times, the item must be refused because it costs more to transport, repair, or refurbish to bring to the communities.

We cannot accept the following items:

Heavily stained or torn clothing items or shoes
USED undergarments
USED household chemical products such as pesticides, paint, paint thinner, drain cleaner, oven cleaner, aerosols and other environmentally-unfriendly waste products.
Large appliances such as air conditioners, dehumidifiers, furnaces, trash compactors, water heaters, etc.
USED personal care items: shampoo, conditioner, nail polish remover, shaving cream, hairsprays, shavers, curling irons
Traditional recyclables such as glass, newsprint, office paper, cardboard, plastics, magazines, junk mail, etc.
Damaged wood or wood with nails sticking out
Weapons such as guns, bows and arrows, ammunition, hunting knives, etc.
